In the lovely valley below the Rocca towards Bardolino, brightened by cypress trees, Aleppo pines and other Mediterranean plant, between vineyards and olive trees, the camping La Rocca opens its doors in 1961. The famous climate of Lake Garda invites to the outdoor life the first pioneers who guess the beauty of staying at a campsite, and the garden under the Rocca is the ideal place!
Newborn, this camping - one of Garda Lake's first - was occupying an area of only 4 acres, overlooking the lake. At that time the only buildings were the reception, the bathrooms, and a small supermarket with local products including wine and oil produced in the same estate.
The campers settled on the grass along the lake, near the flower beds and the plants typical of the south such as lavender, Teucrium, rosemary, etc. Some sought the shade, and looked over at the top, across the Gardesana Road, where nature was full of laurels, cypresses, olive groves and terraces between a rock and another. There they would have wanted to go ... and so, in the '70s we built a tunnel connecting the lower side of the camp with the upper side. The camp was expanded considerably towards the slopes of the Rocca. The houses that now house the restaurant were restaured. The bathrooms and the supermarket were modernized.
In the 80's, the supply system for electricity was renovated throughout with electric current of 3 ampere for the pitches and the system of filtering water from the well was modernized. The first 30 caravans were also purchased.
In the course of the 1980s, the campsite embarked on a long process of transformation. The guests of the structure are more and more numerous and the borders are expanding hosting the first people coming from the countries of northern Europe.
The 90s represent an important turning point for camping. The structure is very appreciated by guests who, year after year, faithful return to the campsite for their summer holidays. Lasting friendships are forged with many guests and it is time to expand the existing services.
In the 90's the existing pizzeria was built, and the first four apartments were created. A new way of hospitality for what concerns camping. Each year the restaurant became more comfortable with new cosy corners and increased variety of appealing cuisine.
In the years 2000 a true general "restyling" was done, always with an eye on improving the quality of the pitches, housing and services, keeping into consideration the surrounding environment. The pitches were bordered by hedges of laurel and then numbered for easy identification. And what about the 80 mobile homes of new generation, which today offer an enviable position high on the banks of the campsite, allowing families privacy and a truly unique opportunity for outdoor living?
The "village" area of the camping started being developed on the upper side of the campsite. In the lower part, the main complex of baths was built from scratch, with an avant-garde project. La Rocca Camp was put in "showcase" on the Internet by creating a website.
The process of growth and constant improvement of the structure continued throughout the 2000s. We purchased the Deluxe model mobile homes, completely renovated the beach volleyball and soccer / basketball fields with suitable flooring and fencing, created the relaxation area with two Jacuzzis on a terrace with spectacular lake views.
The playground for our little guests was built in the lower part. To make our 4-legged friends feel good too, 2 areas were created for the entertainment and cleaning of the dog.
2018 The largest intervention ever carried out at the campsite. An important turning point. The passage from camping to La Rocca Camping Village.
2500 square meters completely designed for the relaxation and enjoyment of our guests, totally innovative and with low environmental impact. The new structure will be powered by photovoltaic panels and solar panels for maximum energy efficiency.
Restaurant, Bar, Pizzeria, Miniclub, New Swimming Pool for adults and children, new Fitness / SPA area, Bazaar, Supermarket, new Theater, new Piazzetta, Toilet facilities and new Superior Pitches had been created.
2019 A new hydro pool overlooking the lake, the third swimming pool of the campsite. Designed for the relaxation of adults, with a salt filtration system, 6 hydromassage beds, 4 types of different hydromassage seats and 3 fountains
2020 Renovation of pitches, 70 new larger pitches and all equipped with 16 ampere of electricity, charge and discharge of water. In addition, was built the first pitch with a private whirlpool tub for 5 people.
